Research-based Instruction, an Essential Tenet of the Foreign Languages Pre-service Teacher Education at the Universidad de Pamplona

This presentation describes how research-based instruction is one of the essential tenets of the pre-service teacher education at the Bachelors of Arts in Foreign Languages-English & French at the Universidad de Pamplona. Throughout a-two-year training, learners are engaged in a twofold process: first, providing in-service teachers with the theoretical foundations, paradigms, designs and approaches mostly used in educational inquiry; and second, enabling them to conduct small-scale projects in order integrate theory into practice that exposes them to first-hand research experience. Finally, the presenter will sum up some of the lessons learned and explain three tasks that will largely determine how in-service teachers will face future initiatives.
